Explore the precision detail that brow threading provides

The Power of the Brow                                                                                                                            Did you know that the brow is the strongest feature of the face that connects the eyes and lips? This is why it is so important to have your brows in order. What I like most about getting your brows done is that it is an investment toward a polished and well-groomed look.

This blog post addresses the history of threading; the technique; the benefits of threading; the pros and cons of waxing vs. threading; and to provide a spotlight on one of our local Chicago businesses as a Brow Salon in the Bridgeport community.

History of Threading
The majority of people believe threading originated in India over 6000 years ago and spread throughout Asia, the Middle East and in recent times Europe. The Arabic word for threading is ‘Khite’; in Egypt it is also called ‘Fatlah’. It is truly an art in mastering this technique.

The Technique
In threading, a thin (cotton or polyester) thread is doubled, and then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, pulling the hair out of the hair follicle. On the contrast of tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, the threading technique can remove short strands of hair.

• Threading does not peel off layers of skin and does not cause skin to sag.
• Hair does not grow back as fast as waxed hair. Better than waxing!
• Skin does not become red and irritated. Great on sensitive skin!
• Threading can pull out specific hairs for a truly unique design or arched affect
• Threading does will not produce more hairs or make hairs stronger. No in-grown hairs either.
• Threading will remove even the finest and the smallest hairs from the surface, leaving your skin smooth. Threading lasts longer than other techniques.
