January 2016, Chicago, IL: 900 North Michigan Shops welcomes the Year of the Monkey with its first annual Chinese New Year celebration on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Chinese shoppers and tourists, along with our loyal shoppers, will enjoy traditional décor, live entertainment and authentic Sichuan cuisine.

900 Shops will be transformed for the holiday with red lanterns, Chinese inspired floral arrangements and golden monkey décor hanging from the ceiling. Beginning at noon, shoppers will experience live music, a Chinese calligraphy station and a traditional lion dance performance. The lion dancers will stop at each shop and perform their ritual dance for good luck.

Taste the cuisine of the Chinese New Year with special guest, Chef Tony Hu. Chef Tony formed Tony Gourmet Group that houses famous restaurants, including Lao Sze Chuan, Lao Beijing, Lao Shanghai, Lao You Ju Restaurant & Lounge, Lao Hunan, Lao Yunnan, Lao Ma la and more recently Lao 18. Chef Tony will be serving Lao Sze Chuan food and demonstrating how to prepare traditional Sichuan cuisine including his authentic dumplings.

In the spirit of the Chinese tradition, shoppers will receive a lucky red envelope containing a special prize. Prizes include gift cards from 900 Shops, and gift cards and vouchers from select retailers. One lucky shopper will have the chance to win an $888 gift card to 900 Shops!
